Strategic Communications & Marketing and Chemistry have a new copier! Please follow the steps below to set up the new copier (this assumes you already have it installed). If you need to install it, please follow the instructions on our printing webpage.

Mac Instructions

  • Send a document to the copier
  • In the print dialog box, scroll down to Printer Features > Xerox Features > click the “i” icon 

Lists xerox features.

  • In the drop-down menu at the top, select “Advanced”
Highlights the advanced settings option.
  • Next to Configuration, click “Accounting”
Highlights the configuration setting with the option of accounting.
  • Change the following settings:
    • Account System: Xerox Network Accounting
    • Accounting Prompt: Do Not Prompt
    • Default User ID: enter the number 1
    • Default Account ID: enter the number 1
    • Leave all other default options
    • Highlights default options.
    • Your options may look like this:
    • Lists alternative options you may have.
    • Click OK
    • Click OK again
  • Save the changes as a Preset:
    • In the Presets drop-down box at the top > Save Current Settings As Preset
    • Give it a good name (e.g., “Public Affairs preset” or “Chemistry preset”
    • Make it available for the specific copier (not all printers)

Shows an example name.

  • Hooray! You can now print to the new copier!

Windows Instructions

Install Printer (can skip to modify settings steps if already installed)

  1. Follow Steps for ‘Setting up a copier in Windows’
  2. /it/help/print/ip-print.html#windowsSetup 
    1. Add printer
      1. Manually setup printer 
      2. In ‘Select a shared printer by name’ enter "”
  3. Modify printer properties (see below steps)

Modify Printer Settings (Once or If printer and drivers were installed previously)

  • Go to printers and scanners in settings, find and open the chem printer. Open printer properties
Displays the windows printer properties.
  • Administration tab
    1. Set configuration to Xerox PrimeLink C9000 or similar
    2. Lists the configuration settings.
    3. Click ok.
  • Reopen the printer properties 
  • Go to configuration tab
    1. Set finisher to BR Finisher
    2. Set Accounting > System to “Xerox Networking Accounting”
    3. Print-time prompt “disabled” 
    4. Scroll to accounting codes and see second screenshot

  • Accounting Codes asks for User ID and Account ID. Enter ‘1’ for both

  • Click ok and try to send a print job.
