As we gather to begin another academic year, I want to express to everyone my deep appreciation for all of your hard work. Collectively, you have made ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó a remarkable intellectual community and an important national symbol of integrity, rigor, creativity, and commitment to the liberal arts and sciences.

I have been touched over the last few days by the optimism with which everyone has returned to campus and your enthusiasm as we begin again our important work as educators. Your love for and commitment to ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó are infectious and moving.
