How to Study Abroad at ÈËÆÞÓÕ»ó

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

The junior qual in biology is typically taken in the semester preceding the thesis year. Students studying abroad that semester are encouraged to take it at the beginning of their senior year (the qual option at the beginning of September). The junior qual should not impede study abroad.

Physics

Because of the hierarchical nature of the required courses, physics majors who study abroad should plan on completing some of their math and physics requirements while abroad. The physics department recommends that students who elect to study abroad do so during their sophomore year. It is possible to go abroad during either semester, but you must start working with a professor in the physics department early to identify a program that offers courses which are deemed equivalent to either Phys 201 / Math 201 (fall) or Phys 202 / Math 202 (spring).
